Ethics and Publication Integrity Policy

The Nature-Nurture Journal of Psychology (NNJP) is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in academic publishing. We adhere to international best practices, including the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines, to ensure research integrity, fairness, and transparency across all stages of the publication process.

  1. Research Integrity

Authors must uphold honesty, accuracy, and transparency in research. The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Plagiarism – Manuscripts must be original; verbatim material must be properly cited.
  • Fabrication & Falsification – Misrepresentation of findings, data manipulation, or selective reporting is unacceptable.
  • AI-Generated Content – Use of AI tools must be fully disclosed. AI-generated text cannot be credited as an author.
  1. Authorship & Contribution Ethics
  • All authors must have made a substantial scholarly contribution to the research and manuscript.
  • Ghostwriting, honorary authorship, or false attribution of authorship is prohibited.
  • Conflicts of Interest (financial, institutional, or personal) must be disclosed at submission.
  1. Peer Review Confidentiality & Objectivity
  • NNJP follows a double-blind peer review model to ensure impartiality.
  • Reviewers must:
    • Evaluate manuscripts objectively.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality.
    • Disclose any conflicts of interest.
  • Any concerns regarding data discrepancies or research misconduct should be reported immediately.
  1. Editorial Integrity & Decision-Making
  • Decisions are based solely on scientific merit, originality, and relevance.
  • Editors must not handle manuscripts where they have a conflict of interest.
  • Allegations of misconduct will be investigated transparently in line with COPE procedures.
  1. Ehical Considerations for Human & Animal Research
  • Research involving human participants must have prior institutional ethics approval and informed consent.
  • Research involving animals must follow recognized international ethical standards.
  • Ethical approval documentation may be requested at any time.
  1. Crrections, Retractions & Appeals
  • If significant errors are identified post-publication, corrections or retractions will be issued promptly and transparently.
  • Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a detailed justification.
